Generic Equivalent Available - If the member buys a brand-name drug and a generic equivalent of that prescribed drug is available, benefits are calculated based on the allowed charge for the generic drug. In this case, the member pays the Tier 1 copayment plus all charges that are greater than the allowed charge for the generic drug.
