These include: birth control drugs; oral diabetes medication that influences blood sugar levels; certain drugs used on an off-label basis (such as drugs used to treat cancer and drugs used to treat HIV/AIDS); over-the-counter medications commonly used to treat gastro-esophageal reflux disease (acid reflux medications) and allergies (antihistamine medications), as long as they are prescribed by a physician.
