Eye care furnished by a Physician for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the eye, including treatment for age-related macular degeneration. For people who are at high risk of glaucoma such as members with family history of glaucoma, members with diabetes, African Americans age 50 or older, and Hispanic Americans age 65 or older, glaucoma screening covered once per year. For people with diabetes, screening for diabetic retinopathy covered once per year. These covered services also include: one pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses after each cataract surgery with the insertion of an intraocular lens; corrective lenses/frames needed after a cataract removal without a lens implant; and one pair of contact lenses needed due to keratoconus.
