Generic Equivalent Available - When the member buys a covered drug, the pharmacist will provide a generic equivalent of the prescribed drug whenever it is allowed. If the member's physician did not prescribe that the drug be dispensed as written and the member chooses to buy the brand-name drug instead of the generic drug equivalent, no benefits are provided by this health plan. In this situation, the member pays all costs for the brand-name drug.
