For services furnished on or after July 1, 2016, home health care also includes long-term antibiotic therapy treatment for a member who has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. This coverage is provided only when the treatment is determined by a licensed physician to be medically necessary and is ordered after a complete evaluation of the member's: symptoms; results of diagnostic lab tests; or response to treatment. For services not covered by Medicare, Medex pays full benefits.
